The American Pastor Police Report Grows Daily

Ingrid Schlueter, at Slice of Laodicea, reports on a disturbing trend in American churches. She writes,

"In Azerbaizan, Christian pastors are arrested for preaching the Gospel. In America, pastors make headlines for things like prostitution, child rape, theft, possession of child porn, soliciting sex from minors, etc." You can read her post Here

I recently commented on a couple of these stories for one of them concerns a minister in my own denomination. I don't know what to say but to recall Paul's words to the Galatians, "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life" (Galatians 6:7-8). God will not be mocked by men in His pulpits leading double-lives.

NOTE: In the days to come I will post an exam that we have used when interviewing candidates for ordination and for men transferring into our ecclesiastical bounds. I think that a large reason why this problem persists is that the church fails to ask hard questions of its ministers.
