Today I went out to pull some snow off the roof with my roof rake and couldn't believe my eyes. During the night we had some deer visit the front of our house looking for something to eat. What's surprising is that a deer walked up our front steps and stood on our front porch! I guess he wanted to check out our artificial wreath. If he would've rung the doorbell we could've thrown out some carrots or other vegetables. One thing I hope doesn't happen this winter: having my front shrubs devoured by deer. I am reminded of that line from the movie Old Yeller, "He better not come around here when I got a gun in my hand."
