News flash! Church Growth Strategies Aren't New After All.
Recently I saw a comment on another blog referencing this video by Dr. Robert Godfrey, president of Westminster Seminary California. This message was given at the 2004 Ligonier Ministries National Conference and is extremely helpful in putting church growth in its historical context. By understanding the 2nd Great Awakening and the theology of Charles Finney we get a tremendous insight into today's church.

We have that conference on CD, and I don't know how many times I've listened to "A Tame Lion." I appreciate Dr. Godfrey's knowledge and insights...and humor. ;)
