Dr. David Murray of Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary has written a helpful post on a topic not often addressed in pastoral ministry. No, I'm not looking to resign nor am I looking for a call. But I've been around long enough to counsel more than a few friends who've grappled with this concern.
Murray's article summarizes some material he's prepared for upcoming lectures. Following that is the letter he wrote to his congregation in Scotland when he decided to leave them in order to come to Michigan to teach at PRTS. What a model of love for his congregation! I love his transparency and honesty as he sought the Lord's will. May you be blessed.
