Over the last year or two much has been written about the Church and its role in Culture.  On one side are those who claim that the church is called to change and transform culture.  On the other side are those who state that the church is called to the Great Commission (making disciples) which is rooted in Word and Sacrament ministry.  Sadly, much of the discourse has degenerated into trench warfare with both sides dug in lobbing shells at each other.

Here is an interesting clip (about 9 minutes) that explores that tension.  Not every question is answered (nor could it) but in the end I think you will see that the two sides are not all that far apart.
