Last week I was in Atlanta serving on the Committee to Review Presbytery Records (RPR). Perhaps you will understand the analogy that it was like watching sausage be made. For three days we deliberated over the good, the bad and the ugly in our denomination. There are eighty presbyteries which means that there are a lot of minutes to be reviewed. Each presbytery is allowed to send one representative and about three-fourths of the presbyteries availed themselves of this privilege. There were moments of laughter and fun but there was also a lot of grueling work and difficult debate.
For those concerned about thorny issues in the PCA please know that there are minority reports that will accompany the committee's formal report. Thus those thorny issues will be debated again on the floor of General Assembly as the minority reports are discussed along side the main report.
